Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

This is a favorite in our house and is always sure to please anyone with a sweet tooth, though this recipe's sneaky since we’ve packed it with protein! We enjoy a slice with a tablespoon of nut butter for even more of a protein punch.

 

Yield:

Makes 1 loaf

 

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

¾ cup sugar

2 scoops whey protein powder

½ cups unsalted butter, melted and cooled

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

4 ripe bananas, mashed

1 cup mini dark chocolate chips, divided

 

Directions:

  1.  Heat your oven to 350 degrees and spray a loaf pan with non-stick spray.

  2. To a large mixing bowl add the dry ingredients and whisk together.

  3. In another large mixing bowl add all the wet ingredients. Add the wet to the dry and thoroughly combine the two together. Just before pouring into the loaf pan add ¾ of the mini dark chocolate chips and pour into the pan. Top with the remaining chocolate chips.

  4. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center. Let thoroughly cool before slicing.
